Winter Woods

24" x 30"

I lived at one time in a house perched on a hill surrounded by oak woods typical of Carmel Valley in California. I enjoyed watching the trees at close range through the change of seasons.

Old white-oaks are particularly majestic; they look regal even when bare. Proudly they spread gnarled boughs against the open sky, as if to give a benediction to the world around.
